The market works 24/5, but not all hours are equally good for trading. Some times bring strong moves and good signals. Others bring range-bound action and false breakouts. Let's examine when trading is most profitable.

Best Time to Trade
Europe Open
07:00 - 09:00 UTC
Market "wakes up." Asian session liquidity is often swept and daily direction forms.
Good for: Smart Money setups.
America Open
13:00 - 14:30 UTC
Second wave of activity. American players enter, often reversing European session direction.
Good for: volatility strategies.
When NOT to Trade
- Asian night (00:00 - 06:00 UTC). Low volatility, range, many false signals. Exception — if trading JPY pairs.
- European lunch (10:00 - 12:00 UTC). Quiet between sessions, market "rests."
- Friday after 17:00 UTC. Traders close positions before weekend, chaotic moves.
- Holidays. Christmas, New Year, Thanksgiving — dead market.
- 30 minutes before major news. Market freezes, then spikes sharply.
Sessions and Currency Pairs
Each session is more active for "its" currencies:
- Asia: USD/JPY, AUD/USD, NZD/USD
- Europe: EUR/USD, GBP/USD, EUR/GBP
- America: EUR/USD, USD/CAD, all USD pairs
Trading EUR/USD at night (Asian session) — bad idea. The pair will barely move.
How to Use in Trading

3Trade only at these times, don't chase in quiet hours
4Record trade times in your journal
After a month, you'll see which hours your strategy works best.
